About

Welcome to Jason Clendenen Photography. I am a fine art wildlife and nature photographer from Texas that currently lives in Africa.

My overseas journey began years ago as a math and science teacher with the Peace Corps in a remote town in Eastern Cameroon. Since then I have continued to find ways to live and travel outside the US, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. My family and I (we just had our 4th child) have been back living in Africa for the past 5+ years, and we love it! The people and experiences are incredible.

I work to try to make this wonderful planet a bit smaller by bringing my travels to you through photography. I hope that when you own one of my images, you will feel a connection to the world in addition to having a beautiful work of art.

There are many reasons to love fine art photography. When you see an image that has been artistically made, it can take your breath away. Whether it is wildlife, nature, travel, or abstract photography, ensuring that each image is well composed, vibrant, and remarkable is what allows them to touch your soul. Imagine a 60" lumachrome acrylic print of a majectic African animal like a lion or gorilla gracing your home? What about an image of a mountain sunrise to help you wake up in the morning?

I have won prizes in Travel Photo Awards as well as been highlighted in Smithsonian and Africa Geographic photo competitions. My images have been published in the Travel Africa Magazine newsletter as well as featured by Drift Travel Magazine, Black Existence, Fivestars People, and others.

All images are available for purchase as luxury fine art, gallery quality aluminum or Lumachrome acrylic prints. Browse the galleries and click on an image to learn more, and let me know if you have any questions.
